Our Vision

Ang Among Pahinungod Sa Matinabangong Amahan.

Our work promotes Prudencio A. Tubalado, Sr.’s core belief  that “education is the best legacy we can leave to our younger generations.”

Our Founding Story

We were built on a promise.

The late Prudencio Tubalado, Sr. once made a promise to a young boy that he would give him a college education. The young boys name was Mark and he had quit elementary school to help his family make ends meet by helping build houses. That is where Prudencio, Sr. saw him among the construction crew that was building his house in Bato, Toledo City, Philippines.  He wondered why such a young boy was working instead of going to school. When asked why, Mark responded that his family could never afford to send him to college anyway so why waste the time going to school now.

Growing up in the Philippines, where more than 1/4 of the population lives below the poverty line, Prudencio, Sr. always believed that a college education was a ticket out.  So he made a deal with Mark: Prudencio promised to pay for Mark’s college education, if only he would go back to school.  Two years after Prudencio, Sr. passed away, Mark graduated from high school.

Our family then learned about Prudencio, Sr.’s promise to Mark. In early 2004, in order to keep this promise and to carry on Prudencio’s belief in the power of education, Prudencio’s children signed the articles of incorporation in the state of Florida to establish the Prudencio A Tubalado Sr (PATS) Scholarship Foundation.

After almost a decade, Mark, who completed a degree in criminology, is now a member of the Philippine National Police. The PATS Foundation currently has 12 college scholars, 20 High School scholars, and 7 scholar graduates.
